Job loyalty

How much loyalty do you feel to your job and your boss?

For example let's say you're working at your dream job but the rest of the employees there are miserable and they decide to stage a revolt and start their own new company and they want you to go with them. Most of the company's important clients/customers/investors have already committed to going over to the new start up and they offer you a higher position and more money than you're making now. You like your job and your boss.

What do you choose, continuing with a well known company where you're happy, or move to a start up company?

If you always remember that your job will post your position before the papers post your obituary, you’ll never have to think about it. Your loyalty should lie with you and your own before any job.

From a loyalty perspective that makes sense but think about the fact that you're also moving over to a brand new company with the possibility of failing 😬 do you take that risk?

That’s a good point. You could play this 2 ways - 1 you take the risk and it grows. you end up with more money, better job, etc. OR you play the loyalty card. You know your skills, you know what you’re doing. You stay with the old company and they may recognize your loyalty. Same outcome. It’s a gamble.
