Taxes are often believed to be theft - I get it. But I think if more of our taxes went to bettering the welfare of the country as a whole, we wouldn’t be so upset about them.

We would probably have student loan forgiveness (with maybe a tax credit to those who have paid them off in last 15 years?), universal pre-k starting at age 3, government subsidized daycare despite financial status, universal healthcare or at the very least major healthcare reforms, and more affordable education. Climate reform would be huge. We would definitely have higher taxes but I would be okay with that if this is what they were going to. I also bet we would have mandatory term limits and I would HOPE we would remove the idea that corporations are individuals in the eyes of the government. Also the rich will pay :-)

That’s a good point. You could play this 2 ways - 1 you take the risk and it grows. you end up with more money, better job, etc. OR you play the loyalty card. You know your skills, you know what you’re doing. You stay with the old company and they may recognize your loyalty. Same outcome. It’s a gamble.

If you always remember that your job will post your position before the papers post your obituary, you’ll never have to think about it. Your loyalty should lie with you and your own before any job.
